Sandy Ball, M. Ed. - Board President
Sandy Ball is a certified teacher in the state of Texas.  She is currently working as a Special Education
teacher in Lancaster ISD.   Her expertise is working with students who have learning differences,
including those with Dyslexia.  She has 30 years of experience in education and believes that all students
can learn and deserve the very best that teachers can provide.

Karen Davis, B.S. - Board Secretary
Karen Davis is a Special Education teacher in the Duncanville ISD.  She is currently working with
students in a self-contained Special Education setting.  Karen brings a wide range of knowledge to the
board as a previous day care owner/operator.  She has also worked as a project manager in a renowned
architectural firm.  

Cathy Ostmeyer, Ed. D. - Board Member
Cathy Ostmeyer has many years of experience working in education in Texas and has recently been a
mentor in the Texas Principal Excellence Program (TxPEP).

Gracie Oyervides - Board Member
Gracie Oyervides is a parent who has chosen La Academia de Estrellas Charter School for her child's
education and brings a welcome parental perspective to the board.  










The next meeting of the La Academia de Estrellas board of directors will be on August 16, 2010 at 5:30
pm at the school.
